Hi everyone, my name is Kathryn Morton and I am a registered dietitian and licensed nutritionist.
I am married to my wonderful husband, Alex Morton, and we have an AussieDoodle named Maverick (the true love of my life, sorry alex!). I have a bachelors degree in nutrtion from the University of Montevallo and a Master’s degree in Dietetics from the University of Alabama. I have been a registered dietitian for 2 years working in the Children’s Hospital of Alabama in the pulmonary clinic and . I am now on a new journey as my husband and I packed it all up and moved to New Zealand, where I have started work at Lululemon.
My whole life has revolved around health and wellness, all starting because of my Grandma who was a dietitian way before nutrition was even thought about. The legend is I turned orange when I was a kid because I ate to many carrots. Moral of the story is sometimes its better to eat a cookie, but I digress. I have taught numerous cooking classes, performed private consultations for specific needs in diets, and given presentations on different areas of nutrition and wellness.
This blog will center around recipes that are good for specific diets such as: vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, low FODMAP with the occasional cheat meal thrown in:). The blog will also feature articles written by me about trendy food topics as well as my commentary on some of the popular articles floating around the Facebook universe.
Food is not the only key to a healthy and fulfilling life, so I will also be writing and including articles on wellness as a whole. These topics will range from spiritual-financial well being and everything in between. Nutrition is just one pillar of wellness and we need to explore them all for a satisfying and whole life.
